Waratahs wait for news on injured stars

WARATAHS coach Michael Cheika is sweating on the availability of star backs Kurtley Beale and Israel Folau for Saturday's game against the Stormers after losing utility Rob Horne to suspension for foul play in a spiteful 32-10 loss to the Sharks last weekend.

Folau missed the Sharks game while recovering from a bruised throat, while Beale (pictured) sustained whiplash in Durban.

The Stormers also have their injury concerns after the 22-17 loss to the Queensland Reds in Brisbane on Saturday night.

Fullback Gio Aplon will miss several weeks after dislocating his elbow, while lock Jurie Van Vuuren had to have his shoulder reset after it popped out of its socket in the second half, ending his night.

Meanwhile, the Reds have the chance to move closer to the top six when they take on the Western Force at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.
