Warwick Aerodrome features in action-packed TV ad

A DIRECTOR'S cut of a television ad filmed at the Warwick Aerodrome has made it's way to the internet.

The Supercheap auto ad was shot over two days at the aerodrome, just two weeks ago.

The ad was directed by Julius Avery, an Australian feature film director based in LA.

The ad features work from the stunt co-ordinator from Mad Max and some of Australia's best precision and stunt drivers.

The commercial titled 'The Best Performing Oils under the One Roof' shows 4 high performance vehicles being unloaded from a truck on the Airport runway.

The 73 second extravaganza is action packed with drifts and burnouts performed by the country's finest precision drivers, epitomizing Warwick as the Horsepower Capital of Australia.

A spokesperson for the production, Mr George Vasiliadis said the company accessed local products and services for the commercial, spending in the order of $60,000 on food and accommodation over the course of filming.

Southern Downs Mayor  Peter Blundell said it was great to see filming occurring in the region.

"Every film or commercial promotes the region to a new group of people," he said.

"The filming of commercials and larger scale film production has the potential to provide short term economic boosts to the local economy."
