Warwick-Allora Rd work starts today
FLOODWORKS along the Warwick- Allora Rd to repair the embankment around the Condamine River are expected to start today.
In order to fix the road as quickly as possible Transport and Main Roads Downs South West Regional Director Tony Platz said the road near the John Dee meatworks would be closed.
"The road will be close so the work can process safely for both the road crew and road users," he said.
"The inconvenience will mean the work is completed in a more efficient time frame of about four months, weather permitting."
Motorists travelling between Allora and Warwick will be able to detour via Lyndhurst Lane.
Heavy vehicles must remain on the New England Highway as there is a 12-tonne load limit on the bridge along Lyndhurst Lane.
John Dee and surrounding business can be accessed from Rosehill Road.
The embankment works costing $1.3 million will be carried out by Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure.
