Warwick businesses share in boom

WILL 2018 continue to be the year of the business?

Latest data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows that actively trading businesses increased by 3.1 percent from June 2016 to 12 months later.

This continues a trend of increases over the last four years.

PowerMark Lending in Warwick are helping to contribute to this financial year's increase, after opening operations in Palmerin St in November.

Area manager and licensed mortgage broker Sarah Borger said it was easy to see why businesses wanted to invest in the Rose City.

"People like to keep money local. Warwick still has a town-style community outlook,” she said.

"Business owners know you, and welcome you in. We haven't had any issues.”

Ms Borger said the decision to expand the business into the Rose City was one that hasn't been regretted.

"We're starting to become a known brand in town. We've had a lot of enquiries,” Ms Borger said.

"The community has been great.”

Her son Cavill founded the business with a branch in Ipswich, before spreading to Sydney.

"I had a few people I knew who couldn't get a loan through the bank, I told them to send my son an e-mail, and now they own homes,” she said.

"It was seen as an area that could grow. The business has been doing exceptionally well and has exceeded expectations. The amount of foot traffic has been good.”
