Warwick CBD business closes its doors
AFTER 10 years of creativity, colour and craft, today sees the closing of the much-loved Canning Town Patchwork in Palmerin St.
Owner Leah Paech said the response from the community had been overwhelming.
"There are a lot of sad people,” she said.
"I've had so many people coming in to wish me well and bringing me flowers, it's been pretty tough actually.”
Mrs Paech said family health reasons had dictated a change of focus.
"It's time to concentrate on other things, which means an end to the shop,” she said.
"I can't thank the local community enough for all of their wonderful support and I'm really going to miss all the people who have been great customers of such a long period of time.
Mrs Paech, along with husband John, daughter Emily and staff supplied the region's crafty quilters with designs, patterns and fabric.
"We've held a lot of workshops and classes over the years as well,” she said.
"It's such strong community here in Warwick and it's been a pleasure sharing my love of patchwork with everyone.”
With stock and shop furniture to sell, Mrs Paech urged people to keep an eye on the Canning Town Patchwork Facebook page for notice of clearance sales.
"I'll endeavour to continue to sell designs and fabric, but now just online and not from the shopfront,” she said.
