Warwick colts go down in semi

JOSH Jordan, Matthew O'Leary and Luke Dean were three of the best for the Warwick colts team which went down 2-0 to Ballandean in yesterday's Stanthorpe Football Association minor semi-final at Ballandean.

The loss puts Warwick out of the competition in its first season at Stanthorpe.

The score was nil-all at half-time.

Ballandean scored in the 15th and 25th minutes of the second half.

Coach Jon Pearson said despite some shots on goal in the final 10 minutes, Warwick could not score.

"I hope the boys stick about and we can have another crack at it next season," he said.

Matt O'Brien and Jordan are the only two who will be too old for the colts next season.

"We did enjoy our first season in Stanthorpe. There is no thought of returning to Toowoomba, not at all," Pearson said.

Preliminary finals will be played this weekend at CF White Oval.
