With Matt Grew who has been re-appointed Cowboys U18 coach for next season

2016 was a great year for the Warwick Cowboys under-18 side.

We built a side that hadn't played together before and we matched it with the best sides in the TRL some of which have played together from a young age.

Rugby league is a game that rewards effort and the effort that this group of young men put in this year gave them an opportunity to play in the grand final.

It was a bittersweet feeling to lose a grand final. The loss leaves a bitter taste in your mouth but the way in which the boys competed against and pushed the top sides in the competition all the way to the end is something I was proud of as a coach.

We see almost half the side step up into the senior sides next year but I am very excited about the talent that is coming through from our local junior clubs.

I am very much looking forward to coaching the U18 Warwick Cowboy side again in 2017.

We will look at having a few training runs before Christmas before ramping it up in January.

All old and new players will be welcome to come down and be a part of what will hopefully be another successful year for the Cowboys.
