Warwick cowboys top APRA standings

WARWICK has two cowboys at the top of Australian Professional Rodeo Association standings.

Johnny Osborne is top of the team roping heeler standings. He is already the most successful team roper in APRA history and returns to serious competition after competing occasionally rodeo in the past two years.

Warwick's Lucas Wilson hit the lead in saddle bronc standings but is unlikely to win the pro tour as he hopes to return to the United States this month to compete on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys' Association circuit.

Three Warwick saddle bronc riders are among the top 15 and all should qualify for the National Finals Rodeo in January.Michael Maher is eighth and Mark Collins 12th in the standings.

Fred Osman is second in bareback bronc, Lachlan Slade third in junior steer ride and Bonnie Flood eighth in the junior high point cowgirl standings.

State champs on 

QUEENSLAND Racing Drivers' Association will host round three of the State Motor Racing Championships at Morgan Park this weekend. About 130 drivers nominated, including Gary Beggs, Bruce Bunch and Jamie Furness from Warwick.

Practice is from 9am today and racing from 12.30pm today and 8.30am tomorrow.
