Warwick Cowboys prepare for final footy in Toowoomba
RUGBY LEAGUE: A large contingent of Warwick Cowboys fans will be on the road this morning to Toowoomba for today's major semi final in the TRL.
The under-18 side plays Valleys in the major semi final with the winner qualifying for the grand final in a fortnight.
Coach Matt Grew has been impressed with the form at training and is confident of a top performance in the game at Clive Berghofer Stadium today.
After playing two A-grade games in recent weeks, prop Matt Titcomb will be back to lead the U18 pack. Titcomb lives at Boonah but plays with the Cowboys.
In the 2.30pm game, minor premiers Warwick play an improving Pittsworth in A grade.
Warwick won its first premiership in A grade in 1987 and the major struggles that season were between Warwick and Pittsworth.
Cowboys officials will be hoping that, as in 1987, the team from Warwick can come out on top.
Paul Cantwell will play half-back after sharing premiership success when Collegians White beat Collegians Blue by one point in the all Dragons grand final in the Warwick and District under-14 competition yesterday at Inglewood.
There are only two Cowboys players missing today who will return later in the final series.
Boom back rower Jordyn Hogden will miss the U18 game due to injury and back rower Matt Marshall will miss A grade due to a one-week suspension.
