MOTORSPORT: Warwick driver Matt Campbell will compete for the first time under the Triple Eight banner in the Wilson Security Sandown 500 held in Melbourne over this weekend.
Campbell has linked with New Zealand-born driver Shane van Gisbergen in one of the two Red Bull Holden Racing teams for the first of three enduro races this season.
He is back in Australia after a strong start in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup series in Europe where he is currently in third place.
Last year, van Gisbergen won the V8 Supercars series and is currently fourth this season in the series so will be hoping to join with Campbell in some enduro wins at Sandown, Bathurst and Gold Coast.
After the Gold Coast 600, Campbell will return to Europe for the final rounds of the Supercup.
Some of their toughest opposition will be from fellow Red Bull Holden Racing team members Jamie Whincup and Paul Dumbrell.
Whincup is currently second in the V8 standings behind leader Scott McLaughlin.
The first practice session for the V8 drivers is at 11.15am today then at 1.35pm and 4.10pm.
There will be more practice, qualifying and short racing tomorrow at 9.20am, 10.50am. 1.45pm and 4.15pm.
The warm up for the V8 Supercars is at 9.40am Sunday and then the 161 laps of the Sandown 500 at 1.15pm.
