Warwick Golf Club course open during holidays
GOLF: While many sports slow down or close down at Christmas, golf will still be played in Warwick on every day of the year except tomorrow.
There will be some ambrose events and competition play but also a lot of social play.
Two regulars at the golf club are Jack Barford and Bruce Williams, who play a social round each Sunday, as well as playing in many of the Sunday charity days.
They were up north recently and played 18 holes at Mackay on a Saturday and Sunday and 18 holes at Hervey Bay.
"We play nine or 18 holes each Sunday at the Warwick Golf Club,” Williams said.
Golfers and non-golfers are welcome to hit off in a four-ball ambrose today at the Warwick Golf Club.
The Christmas Eve ambrose is in addition to some regular Saturday competitions.
The ambrose will be played over nine and 18 holes. In an ambrose, all four players shoot from the best position of their previous shots.
A second holiday ambrose will be held on Boxing Day from 7am and then a third ambrose will be played on New Year's Eve from 7am.
There will be regular competitions on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve but the ambrose will be the only event on Boxing Day.
Bookings for all three events at the pro shop on 46613664.
The course is open for social play each day except Christmas Day.
