Warwick grandma kisses Prince Harry
SHE is the grandmother who has appeared in Woman's Day in a picture of her kissing Prince Harry.
And she's our grandmother.
When Warwick resident Norma McLennan met Prince Harry in Canberra at Easter, just a day after her 76th birthday, she got more than she bargained for.
In a "spur-of-the-moment" decision, Mrs McLennan lent over and pecked the prince on the cheek.
"I was at my son's house and I had the TV on," Mrs McLennan told the Daily News.
"I saw that he was in Canberra and it turned out he was only 10 minutes down the road from us.
"We got there and there was a tall woman in front of me who I couldn't really see over.
"I thought I would never see him and then the next moment the prince was there and shook my hand.
"I said to him, 'this is from one red-head to another' and told him it was my birthday the day before.
"We just both kind of lent in and I kissed him on one side and he kissed me on the other."
It seems family and friends will have a hard time topping it as a birthday present in future years.
"You could say that again," Mrs McLennan replied when asked if it was the best birthday present she has had.
"I thought I might get arrested but the security guards didn't do anything.
"He (Prince Harry) was just a really nice fun-loving guy."
