Warwick gymnasts record placing in levels 5-6 competition

GYMNASTICS: Trinity Welling was delighted to be able to show off her skills at the Warwick Gymnastic Club level 5/6 girls competition on Sunday.

Levels 5/6 were held on Sunday after being postponed after a small electrical fire at the clubhouse in Easey St, Warwick, during last month's competition.

"I came third on beam at the weekend,” Trinity said.

"It was good to show what I had learnt and fun to meet so many new people.”

Aamilyn Johnson had a best of sixth on floor and said she too enjoyed the opportunity to show off her skills.

Annie Cory formerly trained with Warwick but is now training at the Garden City PCYC as she is attending boarding school in Toowoomba.

She was second on beam on level 5 and 10th overall.

Warwick member Maddie Welsh was 7th on beam.

The Darling Downs Regional Championships will be in Warwick this weekend.

Levels 1-6 for boys will be on Saturday as well as levels 1-2 for girls.

On Sunday, levels 3-6 for the girls will be held.

There are 150 nominations from as far as Dalby, Toowoomba and Stanthorpe.

The Warwick club has entered 40 gymnasts in the competition.

Competition starts 9.30am Saturday and 7.30pm Sunday.

Admission is $5 with children under 15 free.
