Warwick High student vs a Frank Biddle bull in rodeo
TEENAGER Dion Doro will be one of 16 under-20 bull riders lining up tomorrow night in a Family Bull Ride at the Australian Rodeo Heritage Centre.
The first bull ride at the centre was a sell-out in July and a large crowd is again expected this time.
The event will be held in an arena that was used for indoor cricket before the heritage centre and Australian Professional Rodeo Association offices were established in Alice St, Warwick.
Doors will open at 5.30pm tomorrow with the first buck-outs at 6pm.
There will be a junior bull ride for cowboys under 20 years as well as a steer ride (16 and under) and poddy ride (10 and under).
Bulls are being supplied by one of the top contractors in Australia, Warwick's own Frank Biddle.
The bull ride is being organised to raise funds for Miss Warwick Rodeo Erica Geppert, who is an entrant in the Miss Rodeo Australia 2016 judging on November 6-8.
Ms Geppert and current Miss Rodeo Australia Danika Boland travelled to the United States for the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo in July.
Danika's husband Matt Boland will be one of two open cowboys to give demonstration rides on top Biddle bulls on the night.
Marburg cowboy Ben Thorpe will also go head-to-head with a Biddle bull.
Event tickets are available from Danika Boland on 0488 717 652 or Erica Geppert on 0429 961 001.
The can also be purchased at the door.
Entry fees: Adults $10, concession $8, under-12s $5, under-fives free, families $25 for four people, $30 for five.
