Warwick Hospital comes together for men's health
OVER the past 30 days Warwick has witnessed some hairy upper lips for a good cause.
A team at the Warwick Hospital got into the spirit of things during November, sporting moustaches to raise money for men's health.
Hospital doctor and captain of the Warwick Hospital Mo Bro team Ben Collins said they wanted to raise awareness and spark a conversation for those suffering.
"We've all had patients impacted by prostate and testicular cancer, and depression,” Dr Collins said.
"Most of the male doctors, as well as OP services, male nurses and radiographers have come on board, with probably a dozen getting involved.
"There's been a good response, and over $100 has been raised for research.
"We partly wanted to raise some funds through Movember, but also raise awareness in the community, and by wearing a moustache we wanted to make guys feel more comfortable to come and talk.
"There's a stereotype of the stoic Australian male who doesn't talk about his feelings, and we thought this might be a way to make them feel a bit more comfrotable.”
