Warwick hosts football carnival

WEARING their hometown colours with pride, more than 30 teams from south-east Queensland descended on Queens Park yesterday to take part in Warwick's annual junior football carnival.

Under 12s coach Craig Berry said the carnival had gone well.

“We've had teams from Tenterfield, Stanthorpe, Dalby and Kingaroy come,” he said.

“This is our main carnival for the year.”

The under 12 team did their coach proud, taking out their age group.

“In their first game they had a pretty convincing win but their second game against Stanthorpe was hard fought,” he said.

“They were down 2-1 at half-time to come back and win 4-2.”
