Warwick in a 2-0 victory

ROBBIE Davey netted a Johnny Enosa deflection to score the first goal for Warwick in a 2-0 victory against USQ in Toowoomba men’s premier football yesterday at USQ.

Warwick led 1-0 at half-time and increased the lead 10 minutes before fulltime when Ricky Sinkins netted a penalty shot after the referee pulled up a hand ball in the penalty area.

Warwick official Dominic Benz said it was the first win by Warwick in the past six games.

“Coach Gary Dargan and the players have started a new formation which is working well,” Benz said.

Fraser Noble again played in goal for Warwick and saved a couple of goals.

Morgan Gilchrist and Ricky Sinkins had good games up front.

Warwick has home games in ladies’ and men’s football on Sunday.

Leach treble

WARWICK player Chris Leach scored a treble in a 6-2 Warwick colts victory against Garden City White on Friday night at Toara Park.

This was the first game after a three-week lay-off.

Garden City opened the scoring through an unlucky own goal by Rob Hammermeister after Warwick had dominated the first half.

Ethan Cussen replied for Warwick making the score 1-1 at half time.

The Warwick team then dominated the game with Leach scoring three goals, Martin Johnson and Tom Settgast one each to give a full time score of 6-2 to Warwick.

Nick Kemp and Mitch Siebenhausen played very well in defence and Leach, Johnson and all had strong games. The team combined well.
