Warwick joins with 1000 bands worldwide for Battle's Over

THE Warwick Thistle Pipe Band is one of 1000 around the world which performed Battle's Over in unison.

While it was 4pm Sunday in Warwick, it was 6am Sunday in France.

Band member Terry Carter then recited Tribute to the Millions.

Warwick Thistle Pipe Band member Chris Donaldson was in the band along with his four children Flynn, Riley, Bonnie and Carlo.

"We have bookings at least once a month,” he said.

"It is a good family outing.”

On Remembrance Day, the Warwick Thistle Pipe Band played at the Sunday morning ceremony at Killarney and played again Sunday afternoon in Warwick.

They paid tribute to the musicians who had paid the supreme sacrifice at war.

After singing in the morning in Warwick, the Centenary Youth Choir was back at Leslie Park on Sunday afternoon for more singing under the direction of Jayne Shelley
