Kids enjoy first day at big school
MOMENTS after the final school bell rang yesterday, children spilled out of their classrooms and into their parents' arms, bursting with stories about their first day at school.
For Noah Burnett, who yesterday began prep at Warwick West, he couldn't wait to tell his mum and sister Peyten about his first day as a "big boy".
"I was playing in the cubbyhouse and playing in the water," he said.
"The cubby house even has a shed!"
Mum Petrena Lamb, whose fourth and youngest child began prep yesterday, said she was expecting a much quieter home in the coming weeks.
Tegan Lamb, who joined siblings Stacey, Reece and Shane at Warwick West, said she had been looking forward to starting school for a long time.
"I painted and played with play dough - and I saw Stacey at lunchtime," she said.
On the eastern side of town, Tiffany Boyce also took her first steps into prep, with big sister Symantha by her side.
With seven years of experience under her belt, Symantha escorted her little sister to her classroom at Warwick East State School and showed her the ropes.
Mum Karen Boyce said it was a relief having Symantha to help chill the nerves of an excited young school girl.
