Warwick pair doing well in Perth hockey titles
WARWICK pair Bailey Rutledge and Josh Hagenbach have played five games so far at the Australian under-13 national championships in Perth.
The championships are being held in conjunction with the Australian Hockey League.
The Warwick pair are playing for Queensland Cutters in the nationals.
The Cutters have beaten Queensland Savres 4-2 and New South Wales Lions 2-1. The Cutters drew 1-all with each of the Western Australia teams and went down 2-0 to South Australia.
Hagenbach is playing in the backs or midfield while Rutledge is at centre half or striker.
Rutledge has scored two goals so far and was player of the match against the Lions.
The Warwick pair had a day off yesterday and will play ACT today. The championships finish on Sunday.
Former Warwick player Lee Bodimeade is coaching the Queensland Scorchers women's team which won its first two games in the AHL.
