Warwick parkrun gears up for 200th run

RUNNING: Warwick parkrun just keeps going Saturday after Saturday and on August 12, the 200th will be run.

Each Saturday from 7am, parkrun starts at Queens Park on the river side of Risdon Oval.

Runners and walkers are asked to be on site 10 minutes before the start of two 2.5km laps on both sides of the Condamine River.

Some runners from the early days who are having a break may decide to return this Saturday for a run or walk in preparation for the 200th weekly parkrun on Saturday week.

A number of Warwick parkrunners have passed their 100 runs.

The only exceptions to a parkrun at 7am each Saturday are the annual Daily News Pentath-run that is on part of the same course on a Saturday morning each May. Most parkrunners join in at least some of the Pentath-run legs.

New participants of any age welcome at any parkrun.

Nomination is free but each runner/walker is asked to print a barcode from the parkrun website to assist with recording.

The emphasis of parkrun is having a go, not winning. First across the line are regarded as first finishers rather than winners.
