Warwick people grateful for life

WARWICK residents have paid tribute to late comedian Robin Williams, who tragically died on Tuesday morning.

The Daily News ran an overnight Facebook poll asking readers to fill in the blank, "I am grateful for _________".

While "family and friends" was the overwhelming response, multiple readers paid tribute to Mr Williams.

"Robin Williams. Without him my childhood would not have been as funny," Gabrielle Jane said.

"The inspiration he gave through his life and his acting roles. He changed the lives of so many. May he find peace at last," Vicki Walker commented in reply to Gabrielle's suggestion.

Further down, Eli Williams also paid tribute to Mr Williams.

"Everything Robin Williams has done RIP," he wrote.

Out of almost 50 responses, family was the overwhelming answer, as almost half of the responses mentioned family.

"My beautiful daughter, her sister who is due in

December, my amazing partner who appreciates everything I do for him and doesn't expect the world from me, my parents who love and support me, my brothers who are more like my best friends, and the fact I have a roof over my head and more than enough food and clothes for myself and my children," Fawn Dunkley said.

"My family/friends. The country we live in. And that I'm alive to be able to enjoy those things," Brooke Pollard said.

"My amazing family and wonderful friends and the life I lead that lets me spend time with these amazing and

wonderful people!" Leonie Schmidt said.

Other people said they were grateful for things such as joy, life, employment, and food.

I am grateful for ...

Deb De Hamer: The fact that every day, due to my volunteer work, I have the opportunity to make a small difference in the life of a fellow brother/sister. Be they homeless, ill, lonely, depressed, angry, or just needing a cuppa. With no thanks needed, it's nice to just see a smile, no matter how small, a look of relief, a sigh of 'someone cares'....that's my reward. That's why I do it! That's what I am thankful for!

Darryl Evans: Love and my children.

Billy Willy Willis: Family, strength. Courage, and the faith that I will be with loved ones again.

Shannon Monique Coleman: Everything bad that has happened in my life - wouldn't take anything back.

Kylie Bartholomew: Waking up to a new day each day and not worrying about yesterday 'cause it's gone.

Kerri-Anne Lee: Sunrises and sunsets, family and wonderful friends.

Justin Russell: Finding a better-paying job. But it's not in Warwick.

Julie Anne Larcher: Family and friends.

Tash Stanton-Womal: My children and family

Tricia Galloway: My beautiful family and friends

Sandra Robinson: My husband and my kids, and their kids, and their kids - love the lot.
