Mother and daughter to play final
MOTHER and daughter Kerri and Bianca Fitch are two of seven Warwick players lining up for Past High in the Toowoomba A2 President’s Cup final on August 14.
The seven travel to Clyde Park in Toowoomba each Friday night to play in the A2 competition for the Toowoomba-based club.
Toni Cox, Rachael Inmon, Brianna Miller, Jodie Olsen and Bonita Tyler join Kerri and Bianca in the Past High team.
Three of the seven – Cox, Inmon and Kerri Fitch – also line up each Sunday to play for the Warwick A3 in Toowoomba.
As the President’s Cup is between the leading A2 teams mid season, Red Lion and Past High qualified.
Currently, Rangeville leads with 27 points, Red Lion is on 26 and Past High on 25.
Warwick now leads A3 on 31 points from Newtown and Rangeville on 25. As the President’s Cup finalists were determined weeks ago, Warwick narrowly missed out in A3.
The Warwick veterans (men) will play Red Lion in a President’s Cup final on August 18, the only final not on August 14.
Currently, the Red Lion team is on 32, Warwick on 27 and Rangeville on 26.
Cox plays A2 and A3 women’s and veterans and captains the Past High A2 women’s side.
TONI Cox, Shannon Armbruster and Kylie Hollist are in the Toowoomba 1 veterans team which will play in the state titles at Rockhampton this weekend.
Games will be played from Saturday to Monday with state teams named after the end of the carnival.
The three Warwick players have all nominated for state teams in their age groups.
Cox and Armbruster have travelled to Toowoomba for 8am training each Sunday in recent weeks.
While Hollist has played most of her career in Warwick, she now lives in Toowoomba.
