Warwick police on lookout after early morning evade

POLICE are searching for a car they say was used to deliberately evade officers in Warwick.

Officers attempted to stop the car near McDonalds on Albion St at 3.40am yesterday, but said the driver took off on the wrong side of the road.

The dark coloured sedan, which police say may be a Mitsubishi Lancer, had its number plates obscured by what may have been a towel.

Warwick police officer in charge Jamie Deacon said the car turned into Wood St, on the correct side of the road, then performed a u-turn and sped back onto Albion St.

Anyone with information is urged to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
