Few arrests as police patrolled the big weekend of events

WARWICK police saw a number of different offences at the weekend, but Senior Sergeant Jamie Deacon said the rodeo crowds were well behaved.

"We had assistance from the mounted police who assisted in patrols," he said.

Police conducted more than 560 random breath tests and Snr Sgt Deacon said he was happy to see there were no drink-driving offences.

"It would indicate that people are starting to get the message about drink-driving," he said.

Police also performed 118 drug tests and 14 of those were positive.

"That is higher than an average weekend in Warwick, but we had more traffic enforcement on the roads," Snr Sgt Deacon said.

A 52-year-old Inglewood man was charged with trafficking drugs and possessing dangerous drugs.

He was arrested and appeared in Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday morning.

A 26-year-old man from Warwick was charged with failing to appear in court.

He was in custody on Sunday night and was to appear in Warwick Magistrates Court yesterday morning.

An 18-year-old man from Thulimbah was charged with four different breaks and enters and possess of suspected stolen property.
