Warwick Redbacks keep winning to boost hopes of the flag

AUSSIE RULES: Warwick scored a 210-point win against Chinchilla in Darling Downs AFL on Saturday at Warwick Credit Union Oval.

Chinchilla turned up with 11 players and Warwick coach Peter Millard asked his team which ones would play for Chinchilla to make a squad of 16.

"We had 20 players in our Redbacks squad on the day and five who played for Chinchilla.” Millard said.

Ben Lubben kicked a personal best of 10 goals on a day where a number of players shared the remainder of the goals.

The final score 35.13. (219) to 1.3. (9).

Lubben, the Millard brothers Kurt and Kris, Andrew Politch, Ben Heppell and Alex Cutmore were six of our best.

Goondiwindi Hawks beat USQ by three points to keep the Hawks equal third with Warwick.

Warwick is still equal third and has a bye this week and will then play South Toowoomba at Heritage Oval in the last of the home and away games.

Millard is looking for a strong training effort this week as the game against second-placed South Toowoomba is a must win game for the Redbacks to secure a finals spot. A loss could mean for and against will decide the finalists.
