Warwick resident wakes to find men trying to break into home

A WARWICK resident has had a frightening experience on Boxing Day, catching two men trying to break into his home.

Warwick police were called to the Donald St home at around 3.30am.

Sergeant Lisa Self the resident was awoken by a noise at the front door.

"The resident saw two men cutting a hole in the fly screen of an open window," she said.

"As soon as they saw the resident they ran away - no entry was gained."

Sgt Self said the would-be thieves appeared to have been trying to do a sneak break-and-enter.

Nothing was stolen in the incident and the only damage was to the fly screen.
