Warwick seniors take trip to Granite Belt

THE Warwick Senior Citizens Association granted themselves a little holiday recently, piling aboard a Haidley's coach for a day trip to the Granite Belt.

President Joe Owens said once the important things like wheelie-walkers and food were loaded, they got on the road.

"It was a full bus,” he said.

"If it gets too full, we draw straws to see who stays home, but there was no need for that this time.”

Mr Owens said the sight-seeing day began with a stop for morning tea at Storm King Dam.

"It is beautiful but there was quite a fresh breeze blowing,” he said.

"However it takes more than a gale to keep the seniors away from their tucker.”

Next stop was Jamworks, then the candle shop before stopping for lunch.

Before heading home, the tourists also stopped at Castle Glen and the Big Apple.
