Warwick shines in latest Wanted episode

THE Rose City has featured heavily in the latest episode of the hit new Channel 7 drama, Wanted.

The third episode, which aired on Tuesday night, was shot predominately in and around Warwick.

From the opening scene filmed in the Warwick Rivers store, to car smashing action scenes shot near Leslie Dam, the episode didn't disappoint local fans.

For Warwick resident Cameron Sternsdorf, the episode was especially exciting.

Mr Sternsdorf, who starred as an extra in the episode, caught a glimpse of himself in a scene filmed on King St.

"It was a little bit exciting," he said.

"The surprising thing was we spent about eight hours filming for about two minutes worth of footage.

"It was a bit eye-opening to see the work that goes into it."

Most of the Warwick scenes in Tuesday night's episode were filmed on October 14.

Mr Sternsdorf said the filming was awesome.

"It was a lot of fun to be involved as an extra," he said.

Some iconic Warwick businesses and landmarks featured in the episode.

Scenes filmed on King St showed King's Theatre, the King St Barber Shop and Warwick Automatic Transmission Service.

Another scene, filmed at the phone box on Lyons St, featured Haidley's and the Lyons St butchery in the background.

Fans haven't seen the last of the Southern Downs scenery. Scenes filmed in Allora and Clifton are due to appear in upcoming episodes.

The next episode of Wanted will appear on Channel 7 on Tuesday night at 9pm.
