Warwick shooters on target in Darling Downs Inter-district games at Dalby
COMMENT: Netball Chat with Renae O’Dea
THE young guns of Warwick 8 had another blinder of a weekend in Darling Downs Inter-district at Dalby. Inter-district day two made them step up another level and prove their worth. The shooting was powerful from Bridget Eastwell, Angela Harm and Maddison Grayson.
This effort was strongly supported by the defensive players who continually turned the ball over and the centre court players being able to clear the space and deliver some strong passes. These girls are becoming very good at being a team in ever aspect. Keep it up girls.
Young talents
YOUNG talents were definitely the stand-outs for this week’s netball. Mary Higgins was showing off her ability to shut down the circle with some beautiful one-on-one defence and the confidence to intercept any ball coming in.
Being a defender in the circle is very hard, you can easily be lead out of the circle. However Mary was always there. She is the true definition of a shooter’s worst nightmare. Something to be very proud of Mary.
Well done Sandy
SANDY Groves is a player who has come a long way.
Sandy is always wanting to know what to do to improve her skills and is forever blowing me away with her ability to pull the ball in.
She is a great asset for the Doorslammers team on a Monday night and Warwick open team in inter-district netball.
