Warwick start strongly in state women’s hockey
HOCKEY: Warwick has started the Queensland Women’s Masters Hockey Championships with two draws on day 1 at Bundaberg.
The team drew 0-all against Gympie 2 yesterday morning and then drew 0-all against Bundaberg in the afternoon.
The Warwick team is swapping the captaincy and Shannon Armbruster is the non-playing coach.
Goalie Kerri Fitch has been outstanding in the first two games stopping numerous shots at goal.
Warwick Hockey Association secretary Rosie Corney said the whole team had played well together.
In its first game today, Warwick plays Brisbane 6 at 11am and then goes into classification games this afternoon.
The carnival finishes tomorrow afternoon.
