
Warwick State High School wins two from three so far
WARWICK State High School has had two wins and a loss in the first two weeks of the Darling Downs open rugby league season.
The first win was in a cliff hanger against Assumption/St Joseph's.
Assumption/St Joseph's led 20-18 with 30 seconds to go when Warwick High won a scrum and took the ball 80 metres to score the winning try.
Bradley Morrish kicked ahead for Warwick High, Brad Walker kicked the ball again, regathered with but was tackled only for Jordyn Hogden to pick up the ball to score the try.
Morrish converted.
This week, Warwick High beat St Mary's 2 (Toowoomba) 28-10 and lost 36-28 to Concordia after each school scored six tries.
Warwick High is also playing in the Anglo American Broncos Cup for year 8-10 students in rugby league and netball.
The final round will be played on May 21 with finals on June 3.
Broncos players and officials will be in Warwick for the cup finals.
