Warwick sticks with same combination for Rose Bowl
TWO players with international experience will be part of the Warwick No1 team to play in this weekend's IOR Petroleum Rose Bowl Polocrosse Carnival at Morgan Park.
Paul McGrath and Cameron Shepherd, who have both played for Australia at open level, will be joined in the team by Warwick Fraser, Zac Cochrane, Stuart Shepherd and Russell Owens for the Rose Bowl competition.
Their toughest opposition will come from a Tansey team, which won the Colliers International Gold Cup at Cunningham last weekend.
Cameron Shepherd said the same Warwick 1 team from last weekend would contest the Rose Bowl.
"We were knocked out by finalists Gold Coast by two goals at Cunningham in a game where we made too many mistakes,” he said.
Paul McGrath (No1), Warwick Fraser (No2) and Cameron Shepherd (No3) will be one section while Zac Cochrane (No1), Stuart Shepherd (No2) and Russell Owens (No3) will play in the other section.
While the Shepherd brothers have played a lot of polocrosse in the same sections down the years, Cameron said the club tried a different combination last weekend and would stick with the same plan for the Rose Bowl.
There is always a lot of interest in A-grade mixed at the Rose Bowl and Warwick No1 will go in as favourites after a win last weekend at Cunningham.
There is only one change to the team from last weekend.
Stephanie Edwards, Jordan McGrath, Katie Owens, Callum Brook, Tom Cobon and Kris Lynas will represent Warwick.
Brook played in an Australian junior squad competition at Narrabri last month.
