Warwick students triumph at Clifton Show
IT was on for young and old at the stud cattle judging at the Clifton Show on Saturday, with plenty of budding exhibitors participating in the competition.
Scots PGC College took home a few wins for Warwick in the Angus classes.
Agriculture department head Peter Collett said the Scots PGC College cattle club followed on its Allora Show success with another win in the bull judging.
"The numbers are reasonable and there's a pretty good line-up here at Clifton," Mr Collett said.
"Our black bull Lunar won his class in the under 12 months Angus bull class here and in Allora.
"The heifer Kyla was first in her class for females 24-30 months and also ranked as reserve champion female.
"She was also reserve champion Angus female and second in her class at Allora so it was a great result.
"Briar Densley got second and Lane Hindmarsh got third in the under 15s parading, and in the over 15s David Bartley got first and Bryce Thomas got third."
Another Scots PGC student Holly Densley took out second place in the under 12s judging and Mr Collett said he hoped she would continue her success when she was old enough to join the cattle club.
Cousins from Warwick Mackenzie Taylor and Hannah Holmes also took out first place in their respective junior judging classes for the under 12s and open in the competition.
Hannah and brother Alex were keen to pass on their competitive streak to younger cousins Mackenzie and sister Madison.
The grand champion Angus was won by a heifer owned by Kirrily Iseppi from Dalby.
