Warwick team heads west hoping to retain trophy
SWIMMING: Thirty-five Warwick swimmers will be aiming to help the Warwick Swimming Club retain the overall country club championship trophy at this weekend's carnival at Goondiwindi.
Warwick won last year in Stanthorpe.
The Warwick club has competed in 14 carnivals so far this season and also hosted the annual McNamara Sprints.
The 8-12 years age groups have the most swimmers in the club this season, especially in girls ranks.
The Warwick club travelled to Brisbane to compete in the state relays at Chandler in December and many of the members swam personal best times.
The 16 years and under relay team stood out as they had two under-12 swimmers in the team due to their fast times.
The team included Holly Roche (15 years), Caitlin Skaines (16), Emma Day (12) and Alyssa White (12) who beat two Toowoomba teams.
