Tennis players flood appeal hit-up

WANTED: Tennis players, regardless of experience, are invited to hit up for the Southern Downs Mayoral Flood Appeal at the Warwick Tennis Association courts from 3pm Saturday.

Warwick Tennis Association president Nathan Costello said 25 players had showed interest so far.

“We will use up to nine courts so can cater for a lot more players,” Costello said.

The older children with some tennis experience will play with the adults while younger children will play separately.

The money raised will be split between the association, which had one court surface wrecked in the flood and two damaged, and the mayoral appeal.

Players can just turn up at 3pm; there is a barbecue on the day. Cost is $10 per player.
