Warwick trio shines at titles

SQUASH: Three Warwick players have competed strongly in the Queensland Secondary School State Squash Championships in Bundaberg.

Jason Anderson (Warwick High) and Caleb Johnson (School of Total Education) played in the U19 championships and Sebastian Johnson (SOTE) in U15s.

Caleb returned from injury in time for the championships and was ranked six out of 44 at the end of the competition.

He won four of his seven games in pool A.

"I loved the championships, my first match was against a player from Metropolitan West and it went for one hour and 20 minutes, the longest of my career," he said.

Caleb is first reserve for the state team that will compete at Acacia Ridge Courts in Brisbane later this year.

Jason competed in Pool C and won every match against five other boys in his pool and won the pool final.

His state ranking is 21 based on the results of the tournament.

"I have been to four state championships and this is my best so far. I am playing the best squash of my career, definitely."

Sebastian, 12, won four of his six matches in the U15 age group in his first championships. The Johnson brothers have been playing for two years.
