Warwick truckie trampled by bull

POLICE have confirmed that a truck driver employed by Warwick-based Frasers Livestock Transport died late on Wednesday after an incident involving a bull at the Longreach saleyards.

The driver’s name had not been formally released by time of printing of the Daily News last night and no details of his age were available.

A police media spokesman said emergency calls were received from the Longreach saleyards about 5pm on Wednesday, after it is understood the driver was trampled by the bull while loading it onto a livestock truck.

The police spokesman said the driver was transported by ambulance to the local hospital in a critical condition but was pronounced dead on arrival.
