Twins can't wait to start school

WARWICK West State School students will see double this year as twins Tasmyn and Daniel Walters leap into Year 1.

The excitement oozing from the siblings was unmistakable, as mum Kerri, told of her preparation routine to have the kids ready for big school.

"We've just been getting all their books and pencils ready and contacting their books," Mrs Walters said.

She said getting them out of bed in the mornings was never an issue.

"They have always been good with getting up, there's never any of that 9am sleep in, so it's just a case of getting out the door at 8.30am so they're on time."

Mrs Walters said going into Year 1 was a big step for the two.

"While it was a big thing to go to school last year, this year is an even bigger year for them," she said.

"Prep was play-based but this year they're heading into a desk and reading and writing. They're ready."

Tasmyn was excited to meet her new teacher.

"She is a nice teacher," Tasmyn said.
