Thunderstorm warning for Warwick

A THUNDERSTORM is predicted to hit Warwick today but the wet will not hang around for long with fine weather predicted for the remainder of the week.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Jonty Hall said today's thunderstorm could occur anytime.

"It will most likely be in the afternoon though," he said.

"(Today) will reach a minimum of six degrees and top of 21. (Tomorrow) will be fine and partly cloudy, warming up during the day to a maximum of 26 degrees."

The mercury will climb to 29°C on Thursday.

"A strong trough coming across inland Queensland will bring hot north-westerly winds," Mr Hall said.

"It will be hot and windy in Warwick on Friday with a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 31 degrees."

If the temperatures continue to rise Warwick might beat the record for the warmest day in September set in 2000 at 34°C.

The sun will rise at 5.46am tomorrow, so if you snap a great sunrise shot send it to edit@warwickdailynews.com.au.
