Warwick West school students shine

SOUTHERN Downs pupils came together yesterday and impressed with an outstanding performance by all on the cross country track at Allora.

Southern Downs Cross Country convenor Roy Nott said it was an impressive day and congratulated all the pupils who competed. Warwick West State School won the competition with 101 points followed by St. Mary’s with 70 points and St. Francis de Sales placing third with 61 points.

There were 166 pupils from about 20 schools around the Southern Downs who attempted to try and get a spot at Darling Downs cross country at Kearney Springs, Toowoomba on June 1.

Mr Nott thanked the Allora Sports Club for the use of the golf course track allowing a great challenging track for a real race.
