Warwick winner in saddle bronc at the rich Mt Isa Rodeo
RODEO: Warwick cowboy Lachlan Miller has won the second-division saddle bronc ride at the Mt Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo.
Miller has been part of a lot of Warwick success this weekend at the richest rodeo in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association.
He backed up from his second-division win last weekend at Cloncurry to win second-division at Mt Isa with scores of 70 and 63.
Miller works in human resources at the Bindaree Beef Abattoir at Inverell but will always be the cowboy from Warwick.
In the open saddle bronc, Michael Maher led going into this afternoon's final. Mark Collins is also in the final but Peel Tribe bucked off.
Maher is going for a third successive Mt Isa saddle bronc win this afternoon.
Fred Osman had the highest first round score in bareback and is drawn on top mare Mandy's Boy this afternoon. Proserpine rider and past Mt Isa winner Roy Dunn is leading the open bull ride.
The rodeo finishes today and form at Mt Isa will be a guide in the run-up to The Warwick Rodeo National Finals on October 27-30 at the Warwick Showgrounds.
