Warwick wins its own carnival and the prestigious Shell Cup
POLOCROSSE: Warwick 1 capped an outstanding four days of polocrosse on their home ground with a 23-18 victory against Bauhinia 1 in the Shell Cup final at Morgan Park on Sunday afternoon.
Russell Owens from Warwick was best horse and rider trophy winner.
Warwick 2 won C grade mixed with a 16-9 victory against Sydney 2. Warwick players Amelia Beck and Mick Rynne won the best horse and rider awards.
Warwick won the junior final 14-8 against Chinchilla with Tristan Cooper from the Warwick club the best player.
Cunningham won the A-grade mixed final 18-14 against Quirindi with Australian U21 representative Ryle Waugh and Jordan Street from Quirindi best horse and rider winners.
Clifton won F grade to give Eastern Downs clubs five victories at the carnival.
The West Sale club from Victoria won B-grade mixed with Mikayla Semmens and Michael Semmens the horse and rider winners.
Other competition winners were Guyra 1 (A grade), Gold Coast 2 (B), Walcha 1 (C), Inverell (D), Bahinia 2 (E), Pally 2/Roma 2 (G) and Bauhinia/Capella (junior B).
