Warwick Wolves secure late draw in football games

FOOTBALL: The Warwick Wolves boosted their finals chances with a 4-all premier men's draw against St Alban's at Middle Ridge Park on Saturday night.

Centre back Cameron Davey had another strong game for Warwick playing alongside Shayne Watson.

Coach Jon Pearson described the draw "as getting out of jail”.

"In the end, I was happy to get one competition point from a draw. We trailed 3-0 at half-time and scored the equaliser with 22 seconds to go from a penalty from Rob Davey.”

Warwick will play Willowburn in Warwick on Sunday.

In reserves on Saturday, Warwick went down 2-1 and are out of finals contention.

"They all played pretty well with Josh Jordan our best,” Pearson said.

In women's, Dalby forfeited to Warwick. The Warwick team heads to Highfields on Sunday for an 11am game.
