Warwick woman stars in TV commercial
SHE might say she's a bit camera shy, but Warwick woman Gabriella Behr shines in the latest TV commercial showcasing Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport to the world.
Miss Behr scored a spot on the set of filming through mutual connections but said she was surprised to end up taking centre stage in the production.
"I was asked to go along and fill an extra's role but the director had other ideas," she said.
"Next thing I was right in front of the camera and it's been a bit surreal to see myself on TV."
Miss Behr, who works as a site clerk for McConaghy Built at Rose City Shoppingworld, said people had been stopping her around the shopping centre to remark on her appearance in the ad.
"It first aired in the region on Australia Day and has already had a lot of exposure, reaching a wide audience," she said.
"The idea behind the ad is 'from Toowoomba to the world' so it's really a showcase of our region and our proximity to an airport that can take us around the country and to international destinations.
"It was a lot of fun to be a part of and I'm really proud of it, particularly because of the exposure for our region."
Miss Behr, a long-time drama student said this commercial might not be the end of her TV career.
"The director asked if she could call on me for more work and she's already been in contact, so we'll see what happens."
