A frozen start: Ice, frost and freezing conditions

THE Southern Downs is waking up to icy windscreens and frosty scenes this morning.
At the moment the mercury is hovering below zero at 0.5 degrees after a low of -1.3 at 6am.
At 5am the apparent temperature was a very chilly -2.9 degrees.
The cold start is expected to be replaced by a nice sunny day with an expected top of 19 degrees.
For the next three days the minimum temperatures are all hovering around 0 so residents should be prepared for very cold mornings, but again sunny days will be the norm with daytime temperatures in the low 20s.
Frosts are expected through Friday and the weekend and rain is also forecast looking ahead to next week.
