Warwick's NYE weekend forecast
IT WOULD only be fitting that one of the biggest days of the Warwick calendar was subjected to wet and wild conditions.
New Year's Eve is shaping up to be a wet one, with showers and storms forecast across the weekend.
BOM meteorologist Janine Yuasa said the outlook for the Rose City was a bleak one for New Year's celebrations.
"It (showers) will most likely hit during the usual time of afternoon and evening,” she said.
"We couldn't rule out something sticking around by midnight. It should be done and dusted by then, but we can't guarantee it.
"Warwick could get a man-made and a natural light show on the night.”
As for today, showers and possible storms are predicted for later in the afternoon.
"Generally 1-5mm, with up to 10-15mm totals if Warwick gets under one of those storms,” she said.
"There is quite a bit of moisture in the atmosphere, and any storms could drop significant rain, although they are to the east of the ranges.
"If they do hit, you could see 25-30mm or so tomorrow, and similar for the week ahead.”
Temperatures are expected to reach a top of 34 today, with a maximum of 33 for New Year's Eve.
