Warwick's Seniors Exhibition turns 10

THE Warwick Senior Citizens hall was abuzz with plenty of Rose City seniors for the Leisure and Lifestyle Expo yesterday.

Now in its 10th year, the event welcomed 51 stallholders to spruik their services.

Southern Downs Regional Council community engagement officer Pam Burley said organisers aimed to host a diverse range of stallholders.

"From our point of view there is a big drive to get the message across that being old isn't about being old and frail," Mrs Burley said.

"Because it is a Leisure and Lifestyle Expo, we want this to be an opportunity to show seniors can still be active and vibrant," she said.

"For that reason we want to strike a balance between the assistance and health services and the recreational clubs available for people to join.

"Seniors are in a good position that their working days are over and they can spend a lot more time with multiple clubs and just socialising and having fun."

Warwick Bridge Club president David Moran agreed.

"You can see by the different stalls and the number of people here that there is a good variety of activities for us to enjoy," Mr Moran said.
