Water Rats to host Wheatmen in Saturday afternoon footy

RUGBY UNION: The Warwick Water Rats will host Dalby at 1.30pm this Saturday in a Darling Downs Rugby Union B-grade game.

Coach Vlad Savovski is upbeat about the Water Rats form after successive wins against Goondiwindi and USQ.

Warwick travelled to Toowoomba and beat USQ 33-19 last Saturday after leading 14-12 at half-time.

Club president Andrew Williams said there was a good roll up of men and women at the Thursday night training session.

"Dalby are the best performers in men's B grade so far this season so it will be a good test for us leading into the second round,” he said.

"We have two or three new exciting players who have joined up in the past couple of weeks. Loose forward Harry Marshall brings some Brisbane club experience to the club. He will miss this weekend's game but will be back for the game on June 24 against Rangers in Toowoomba.”

The women have the weekend off after two wins from three game last weekend.
