Water Rats training for the new season

RUGBY UNION: The Warwick Rugby Union Club will resume training at 6pm on Tuesday night in preparation for the 2019 Darling Downs season.

President Andrew Williams said all prospective players were welcome at training.

"We will be fielding a senior men's team in B grade and a ladies sevens team this season,” he said.

"We are not sure of the exact format for the season as it is likely there will be more ladies teams in the Darling Downs competition.

Last year, Warwick made the top-four in each competition but was eliminated early in the finals.

Two years ago, Lauren Fowler coached the Warwick team to the ladies grand final where they went down to Toowoomba Bears.

The Water Rats men's and women's squads will also train on a Thursday night at Risdon Oval at Queens Park.
